A .450 WESTLEY RICHARDS MONKEY TAIL CAPPING BREECH LOADING CARBINE CIRCA 1875 serial no.10,307 with 25in. barrel stamped with Birmingham proofs at the breech together with the serial number "10,307 and the legend "WHITWORTH RIFLING", fitted with block and blade front-sight, and small carbine pattern ladder rear-sight graduated to 800 yards, the breech lever stamped "MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS", the brass breech plunger and the lock missing, iron mounted full walnut stock, the butt-trap cover missing, crack at wrist and a large repair 11ins. X 1/2ins. to the counter-lock side of the stock, top sling swivel only and rod missing.
